We're about to end today's coverage of the LA bushfires here, but there will be more to come from ABC News as we continue to cover the unfolding situation in and around the US's second largest city.
Before that, here's a recap of what we know:
- Five blazes are burning, mostly out of control, around Los Angeles, including the Palisades and Eaton fires that have destroyed hundreds of homes each.
- Five people have died and at least 130,000 people evacuated since the fires broke out earlier this week.
- The newest blaze, the Sunset Fire, is threatening landmarks in Hollywood.
- More favourable wind conditions are expected to give firefighters a better chance of containing these blazes in the coming hours, but that will come as cold comfort to many of those who have already lost everything.
We'll be back with more live coverage in the coming hours. Stay safe.
