Thanks for being with us

Thanks for being with us today.

Tim Tszyu has won against this dangerous American rival, who didn't quite look at the races today to be honest.

But it's a big win because it puts him back on track after two devastating defeats.

The plan seems to be that he will face Keith Thurman later this year, probably in Australia.

Then, he wants a rematch against Fundora. He wants his belt back that, frankly, was taken from him after a freak injury.

It was a vastly improved display from Tszyu.

Keith Thurman will provide another challenge though. A different challenge. A tougher challenge.

Thanks for being with me, I'll catch you again next time.

Tszyu can only beat who he faces

It's a tough one, because there are, obviously, a lot of fighters at this weight.

There's an argument to be made that he's been well matched before his move over to the States.

But he's been a world champion. You don't become a world champion at these weights by beating nobody.

I think that's a fight that will weigh heavily on him

He is talking a lot about Keith Thurman though, so I think that's the one that's next off the rank to be honest.

He has just told Main Event that he would like the Fundora rematch too.

No mention of Murtazaliev.

Tszyu admits win is 'a lot off the chest'

Tim Tszyu is talking to Main Event now.

"It's just a lot off the chest," Tszyu is telling Main Event now.

"I was expecting him to come at me, but once he stood still that's when I felt like I was in control.

"I started feeling him.

"When you have that jab that's going through the middle, you have the control."

He says he's surprised that Spencer didn't go down under that barrage of punches.

He adds that he's thrilled that he was able to come back from the consecutive defeats.

"You rise from that, hopefully it's an example to a lot of people," he says.

He now wants Keith Thurman, saying that it would be "a hell of a fight".

"That would be a different fight," he says.

"What I did tonight, I can't do against Keith."

Joey Spencer's father threw in the towel

It was a mercy, because looking at the replay, Spencer was being pounded into oblivion there.

Tim Tszyu jokes in the ring

Oh wow, how happy does Tim Tszyu look.

"No pressure man, I'm happy," he says as everyone around him smiles.

"Actually yeah there was a bit of pressure," he then adds.

"I hope I learned, that if they drop and go on the floor, when shit hits the fan, you can always get up and come back."

What was the hardest experience of this fight?

"Last night's weight cut was a hell of an experience," Tszyu says, looking a bit haunted in honesty.

"The critics, they're always going to be there, but I proved it to everyone in the world, I'm back."

Now the important bit.

"I learned from my mistakes," he says.

"You don't go in like a hot head from the first round and just abandon everything.

"I learned my lesson."

He credits Joey Spencer as "one hell of an opponent".

Spencer, hanging on the ropes in the corner, smiles and puts his thumbs up in front of a face that looks like it's been slapped repeatedly by concrete.

Tszyu has a message for Keith Thurman as well.

"Sign the contract big boy..."

Tim Tszyu wins!

The smile is as wide as the Harbour Bridge.

Relief? Perhaps.

But that was so much better from Tim Tszyu.

There was defence. There was patience.

Perfect.

Tszyu vs Spencer, Round 4

Tszyu lands with a really good right to the head but Spencer landed well to the body with his right too.

Good upper cut from Tszyu!

Good left there from Tszyu lands - Tszyu is getting to the punches earlier than the American.

BANG! Tszyu likes that one, a solid left that goes from upper cut to hook in one motion.

Good left from Tszyu, as Spencer is getting caught by the hands and getting marked around the eyes.

Tszyu gets caught by the left, but now Tszyu has opened up!

TSZYU IS GOING TO TOWN ON SPENCER!

TSZYU HAS SPENCER AGAINST THE ROPES!

IN COMES THE TOWEL!

Spencer looks nervous

He just doesn't quite look at the races yet, Spencer.

Still a dangerous opponent though.

Tszyu vs Spencer, Round 3

Spencer jabs, misses short though.

Tszyu jabs high and misses but they clinch.

Tszyu marches down they clinch.

Good left, a cuffing blow from Tszyu.

Spencer lands twice to the body and then Tszyu returns fire with one of his own.

Tszyu lands with two shots and has Spencer against the ropes. Spencer was covered up well.

Good land from Tszyu, a solid left there.

Spencer is back against the ropes. Tszyu lands with a right and then backs away.

Spencer is talking to Tszyu as the crowd chants.

Spencer lands a jab, Tszyu lands with a left, and another left, now a right.

Good right from Tszyu, Spencer ducked under a left and was caught by the right.
