We might wrap things up

Well, that was staggering.

I did not think that would be over so quickly or so devastatingly as that.

What a stunning display from Iga Świątek, who in that form is simply irresistible.

Thanks for being with us - we'll have more action from SW19 tomorrow from the men's final, but for now, it's goodnight from me.

Świątek says Wimbledon's uniqueness made her 'anxious'

Świątek says that she thinks Wimbledon made her nervous because of its history.

"I want to also thank everybody who is making this tournament so unique because there's no tournament like that," she says.

"I always was kind of, I don't know, anxious because of that, because like walking around here, being on a centre court, for me, it felt like a huge, you know, pressure and a bit too much.

"But this year I really, really enjoyed it. I feel like I improved my game enough to feel comfortable here."

Świątek 'didn't even dream' of winning Wimbledon

Here's the champion.

She looks like it hasn't sunk in yet. To be honest, it hasn't had time to.

"It seems super surreal," she says, before thanking Anisimova.

"First of all, I want to congratulate Amanda for an amazing two weeks.

"No matter what happened today, you should be proud of the work you're doing."

She says that she can't believe she's won Wimbledon.

"I didn't even dream because for me it was just like way too far, you know?" she says.

"I feel like I'm already an experienced player. But after winning, you know, the slams before, but I never really expected this one."

Anisimova sobs as her mother watches on

Anisimova really breaks down when talking about her mum, who flew in to see her daughter play in a Wimbledon final.

"My mom, who flew in this morning. I definitely would not be standing here. ... My mom's put in more work than I have," she says before sobbing a huge, heaving sob right from the depths of her aching heart.

It's hard to watch this American, who has been through so much in her tennis career, in such visible, emotional pain.

"My mom is the most selfless person I know and she's done everything to get me to this point in my life," she says.

"So thank you for being here and breaking the superstition of flying in.

"I mean, it's definitely not why I lost today.

"I'm so happy that I get to share this moment and for you to be here and witness this in person, you know, you don't get to see me live playing that much anymore because you do so much for my sister and I and you always have. I love you so much."

She finishes by thanking her team.

"I know I didn't have enough today, but I'm going to keep keep putting in the work. And I always believe in myself. So I hope to be back here again one day."

'I wish that I could put on a better performance for all of you': Anisimova

Amanda Anisimova walks up to the microphone.

She doesn't want to be there. I get it. The tears come again.

She's given some time. I think she'll need some more time than just the few seconds she'll be allowed.

This might take years to get over.

"Thank you Iga," she says.

"You're you're such an incredible player. It obviously showed today.

"You've been such an inspiration to me. Just an unbelievable athlete and you've had such an incredible two weeks here and winning the championship. It's so special.

"Congratulations to you and your team.

"Thank you to everyone who's supported me since my first round match here. It's been such an incredible atmosphere and you guys have carried me through this entire championship.

"It's been an incredible fortnight for me and even though I ran out of gas a bit today, and I wish that I could put on a better performance for all of you, you guys have still been there for me and lifted me up today, so thank you so much.

"It's been such a privilege playing here and making it to the to the Championship match and to be able to compete in front of all of you. It has been so, so special. So yeah, I mean, I'm never going to forget this, this experience and all of these memories."

Anisimova walks off court

She needs time to compose herself, splash some water on her face and remind herself that it wasn't a nightmare.

That really just happened.

She returns with tears pouring down her face.

She's distraught, and understandably so. What a horrible first grand slam experience.

Świątek celebrates with her team

Świątek used to hate grass. I bet she'll wonder what she was so worried about now.

What a performance.

She makes her way into the crowd to celebrate with her team, all jumping in a circle in the stands at Centre Court.

Świątek wins 6-0, 6-0 in 57 minutes

This is absolutely stunning.

I cannot believe how one-sided that was.

Świątek *5-0 Anisimova (6-0)

Anisimova takes a long time to get off her chair, hoping it would collapse and take her somewhere else, perhaps.

Świątek serving for the match and the championship.

Long from Świątek. 0-15.

Anisimova goes long. 15-15.

The crowd is absolutely stunned and almost silent.

Fault from Świątek. Anisimova gets into position at the net and then hammers a volley long. She just turns and walks away. I don't think she can believe it now. 30-15.

ACE! 40-15. Two championship points.

Long! Świątek had the whole court to aim at from out wide, Anisimova was resigned to her fate, but Świątek missed. 40-30.

SHE DOESN'T MISS THIS TIME THOUGH!

Świątek 4-0* Anisimova (6-0)

This is a training match for Świątek at this stage. A good rally from Anisimova forces Świątek to think a bit, but the shot from the American eventually goes into the net. 0-15.

Now she goes long after a shorter rally. 0-30.

Better from Anisimova, Świątek just can't get a deep return back over the net. 15-30.

Anisimova goes long. She looks down the court at the ball with real desperation on her face. How can it be doing this to me, she seems to be saying. 15-40, more break points.

Stunning from Świątek. Stunning. The slice to bring Anisimova to the net. The power passing shot. Amazing.
