Maybe it's just recency bias because I just watched the concede 66 points, but I think what I'm struck most by is just how woeful Newcastle was.
At the start of the season at least the defence was in good shape, but that blew out as they finished with the third worst record in the league. And the attack was utterly pitiful, scoring just 338 points and 61 tries in 24 matches (the next worst was 427 and 77 by Souths).
Outside the top eight, huge congratulations has to go to the Dolphins for overcoming a massive injury toll to finish ninth and score more points than anyone in the league. And the Eels, who looked like a top-four team with Mitchell Moses back in the second half of the season.
