Lando Norris says first lap scuffle was 'racing'

Lando Norris made contact with the rear of Max Verstappen's Red Bull, then the side of his teammate's McLaren. 

The Brit said there was nothing in either moment.

"[Lap 1] It was slippery, so wet in lots of places. It is racing, I put it on the inside, had a little correction and yeah, that's it."

Max Verstappen says second was a 'maximum result'

Max Verstappen defended magnificently to secure second place in Singapore. 

Red Bull put soft tyres on Verstappen's car to start the race, but it was not enough for the Dutchman to take the lead.

"The track only just got dry, so we opted to try something different. It didn't work out," Verstappen said.  

"The whole race was quite difficult for a few different reasons so we need to understand what went wrong today. 

"For us, second was the maximum result."

Lewis Hamilton to be investigated after the race for exceeding track limits

Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton finished seventh, but he could lose that.

He was nursing faulty brakes at the end of the race, and he went off track multiple times in the final couple of laps. 

Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso finished four-tenths behind Hamilton, after being close to 40 seconds behind with a couple of laps to go. 

If Hamilton is handed a five-second penalty, he will be demoted to eighth.

Oscar Piastri's championship lead shrinks

Oscar Piastri came into tonight's race with a 25-point lead over Lando Norris, and a 69-point advantage over Max Verstappen. 

That has now been reduced. 

Piastri's gap to Lando Norris is 22 points, and his advantage over Verstappen is 63 points.

McLaren wins the F1 constructors' championship

McLaren has won the F1 constructors' championship for a second year running. 

They have won with six rounds left in the season. 

It is the first time McLaren has won consecutive constructors' titles since a string of four in a row from 1988-1991.

George Russell wins F1 Singapore Grand Prix for Mercedes

George Russell has converted pole position into victory at Singapore.

Max Verstappen holds on for second. 

Lando Norris is third, and Oscar Piastri is fourth.

George Russell is about 4km from a wonderful victory. 

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen is still ahead of Lando Norris in the battle for second.

Oscar Piastri is fourth, two seconds behind Norris.

Lando Norris is spending a lot of time behind the Red Bull of Max Verstappen, but the McLaren driver cannot get a look in.

The Red Bull ace is driving wonderfully. 

Oscar Piastri is 2,2 seconds behind Norris, but time has all but run out for the Australian to snatch a podium.

The battle for second is on again.

Lando Norris is within one second of Max Verstappen. 

Norris is able to open his rear wing in every DRS zone. 

This could be massive for the drivers' championship. 

Currently, he is gaining three points on Oscar Piastri.

If he gets by Verstappen, it will be six points.
