That's all for now!

Thank you for sticking with us during our live coverage of the ceasefire situation still ongoing in Israel and Gaza.

We'll be ending our blog here, but we'll be back bright and early in the morning.

United States President Donald Trump is on his way to Egypt for peace talks with world leaders, and the process to return a first group of dead Israeli hostages will begin imminently in Gaza.

If you'd like to read more about the developments that occurred today, you can in the link below.

Red Cross en-route to receive bodies of four Israeli hostages in Gaza

Members of the Red Cross are currently on their way to a meeting point in the southern Gaza Strip to received the bodies of Israeli hostages, the Israel Defense Forces has confirmed.

The IDF has not confirmed the number of bodies it intends to receive, but earlier we reported that Hamas had announced it would be four.

The Israeli Minister of Defense Israel Katz has also since issued his own statement, warning Hamas to abide by the conditions of the ceasefire agreement.

"The urgent mission to which we are all committed now is to ensure the return of all the abducted bodies home," his statement said.

"Hamas's announcement about the expected return of 4 bodies today is a failure to meet commitments.

"Any delay or deliberate avoidance will be considered a gross violation of the agreement and will be responded to accordingly."

Trump Knesset protester explains the commotion

The Israeli Knesset member at the centre of a vocal protest during Donald Trump's parliamentary address earlier has explained his reasoning for the commotion.

Earlier we reported that Ayman Odeh, an Arab Israeli, held up a sign that read "Recognise Palestine" before being thrown out by parliament security.

"I was kicked out of the Knesset for raising the simplest demand — one  the whole international community agrees on: Recognise the state of Palestine," Odeh told Reuters.

"Recognise the simple truth: There are two peoples here and no one is going anywhere."

'We are filled with happiness': Hostage's family releases statement

Earlier today, the Bring Them Home Now group, which represents the families of all of the hostages, published a statement on behalf of a father of one of the freed Israelis.

Avi Ohana, the father of Yosef-Chaim Ohana, says "our prayers were answered".

Yosef-Chaim was released by Hamas along with 12 other alive hostages in a second transfer to the Red Cross a short time earlier.

"We are filled with happiness for the privilege that has fallen to us to embrace Yosef-Chaim again," Mr Ohana's statement said.

"Our hearts are with the families who have not yet had the chance to receive their loved ones, and we wish for the swift return to the land of Israel of all our deceased hostages for proper burial.

"A great thank you to the dear people of Israel who were with us and embraced us in every matter, with every help we needed.

"Thank you to all those who helped, to the Prime Minister, to President Trump, and to everyone who was on our journey."

Donald Trump departs Israel

The US President's Air Force One aircraft has just taken off from Ben Gurion Airport in Israel.

That means Donald Trump is on his way to Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt to join other world leaders for further peace talks and to formally sign the peace agreement between Jerusalem and Gaza.

We'll keep you in the loop about his movements and what may come next.

Hamas announces it will release bodies of four Israeli hostages

The militant armed wing of Hamas, the Al-Qassam Brigades, has announced that it will release the bodies of four of the 28 deceased Israeli hostages later today.

It has also named those four individuals as:

  • Guy Iluz

  • Daniel Peres

  • Bipin Joshi

  • Yossi Sharabi

Donald Trump is on the tarmac

We've got eyes on the US President. He's currently on the tarmac at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel, alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He's slowly progressing to boarding Air Force One, but he's taking many photos with officials who are gathered around him.

There is also a very strong security contingent in attendance with the president, who also looks like he's joined by his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner.

We'll let you know when Air Force One gets its wheels in the air.

World leaders are meeting in Egypt … Without Donald Trump

As we've been telling you, US President Donald Trump is running late for his scheduled events and an appearance at the peace summit in Egypt.

That has not stopped other global leaders from meeting with one another on the sidelines of that summit.

It appears that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani have all gathered before the beginning of formal discussions.

Egypt receives 154 freed Palestinian prisoners from Israel: Reports

The Associated Press is reporting that an Egyptian official has confirmed 154 Palestinian prisoners who were released and deported by Israel have now arrived in Egypt at the Rafah crossing with Gaza.

The freed prisoners were to be sent to third countries as part of the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, said the official.

Helicopters over Israel still transporting hostages

If you've been tuned into the ABC's ongoing coverage of the situation in Israel and Gaza on News Channel, you will have seen or heard my colleagues speaking about helicopters routinely buzzing overhead in Tel Aviv.

Those helicopters have been transporting the freed Israeli hostages from Gaza to hospitals for further assessment, and then onto their waiting families.

In the last few minutes, the Israeli Defense Forces has shared an update online that explains some more of that and shows what it looks like:
