Time to wrap things up

We'll no doubt hear more over the next few hours and days about this title race.

It's been one of the most tense and tightest title races we've ever had.

Oscar Piastri will have his time again.

He has shown that he is of world championship calibre.

But he couldn't quite get it done this year.

Good job we'll do it all again next year, then.

From myself and Mick Doyle, we will catch you all next time.

'He is a future world champion': Zak Brown

A moment for Oscar Piastri, from McLaren boss Zak Brown.

"He is a future world champion," Brown says.

"Both our guys won seven races, drove brilliantly, they supported each other.

"It's a cruel sport how some things don't go your way when they're out of your control, but I'm excited to go racing with him."

Gotta love hugs with mum
The podium

AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP CHAMPAGNE!

Huge congratulations to Lando Norris.

A superb victory for the British driver.

Awkward silence in the podium room?

The three combatants are sitting, almost silently, on a big sofa waiting for the podium presentation.

That's actually quite sweet.

After the heat of battle, the high octane thrill of motor-racing, a quiet moment of contemplation for them all.

Max Verstappen is smiling and occasionally chirping in with some comments.

But it's mostly quiet.

A fitting contrast to what we've just experienced over the last few months.

A tense, exciting race
The teammates hug

You genuinely love to see it.

Norris credits Piastri, Verstappen

Lando Norris, the 35th Formula 1 world champion, is speaking.

"I haven't cried in a while," Norris says.

He is thanking all of his team, his family.

"It feels amazing.

"I now know what Max feels like, a little bit.

"I want to congratulate Max, and Oscar, my two biggest competitors all season. It's been an honour."

He says that it was on his mind throughout the race.

"I just kept pushing," he said.

"They certainly didn't make my life easy this year."

Drivers come up to congratulate Norris

He is a popular man in the paddock.

And it's showing here.

Lots of his rivals coming up to congratulate him.

'A little too exciting': Zak Brown screams in joy

"We did it! We did it!" Zak Brown says, cheering in delight in the pit lane.

"It wasn't easy.

"That was exciting. A little too exciting."
