"We probably should have won a few weeks ago against the Dolphins and last week they fought so hard but also made it so hard for themselves," said Titans coach Josh Hannay. 

"I defy anyone who watches this team and doesn't see a gritty, connected group of players. If these guys weren't connected and tough they might have turned it up tonight."

This game marks Hannay's first win as Titans coach. He's got some wraps on Arama Hau.

"He's a good story. That's four straight 80 minute performances from him now and tonight you saw the quality of the lad," Hannay said.

"He's spent the last three weeks working his backside off and tonight he got a chance to shine." 

We have an update on Kyle Flanagan from the post-match presser.

"He's been taken to hospital. He was unconscious for - someone said five minutes, so that's a big concern," Dragons coach Shane Flanagan said of his son. 

"But he's rang his mum and rang his wife. He's got feeling and movement in his arms and legs. 

"I had to get myself together and regroup and know we had good medical staff that he'd be OK. It was definitely a challenge, I hadn't had to do that before. 

"He was talking, he was agitated. He's one of the toughest kids you'll ever see, he didn't want to get in the ambulance."

Shane Flanagan says the injury is not the reason for the loss, which he calls "frustrating."

"To be honest they're NRL players, they have to get on with it. We can't use that as an excuse," Flanagan said.

Oliver Pascoe, who's on debut and has done some nice things at dummy half, knocks over the goal and that will do us. 

The Titans have won their first game of the season! 

Sloan loses the ball as he returns a kick, Atkinson knocks it back and gets mobbed in his own in-goal. 

Saints go quick, it's out on the full and the Titans will take the two and win it! 

The Dragons go short and get it back, they're on the attack.

They go sideline to sideline, with Sami and Feamani both making strong tackles on their opposite numbers, and Fifita flies high to claim Atkinson's kick - he loses it, but it goes back and the Titans survive. 

Hau is having a whale of a game - he hits a gap off Campbell around halfway and he's in the clear.

He shows Gutherson a dummy, fends off Cook and goes all the way to score! What a try from the big man and the Titans have taken the lead!

Campbell converts and it's 20-14 Titans with five to go.

Sami's ankle gets twisted underneath Su'A, the Titans are claiming a hip drop and the referee agrees. They get a fresh set inside the 20. 

There's a set restart, then the ruck gets blown up and it's a penalty right in front. The Titans take the two, Campbell makes no mistake and we're level at 14-all. 

Fifita times his chase on a bomb really well and forces an error from Gutherson as a result. Titans in the 20, on the attack. 

Play gets stopped because of a head clash between Buchanan and Flanagan, the latter is in bad shape and his day is over. They bring out the medicab for him as a precaution - he's moving his arms and legs and talking to the medicos. 

A forward pass from Morrin puts Saints on the attack and a set restart helps them build pressure. 

But they relieve it almost straight away as Flanagan puts it down. The Dragons will challenge but they won't get it. Bad 30 seconds for them right there.
