That will do it for our live team naming blog. Stay tuned to nzherald.co.nz/sport for more reaction and analysis on the team. The Herald will also have live coverage of the test on Saturday night. Kickoff is 9.45pm.

Perhaps the big question mark about this team is the absence of Damian McKenzie, who was one of the best players of this year's Super Rugby season. It's worth noting Leicester Fainga'anuku and Emoni Narawa are both unavailable due to injuries.

From the team just announced, Ian Foster and the All Blacks selectors are definitely not taking this test lightly. Maybe they read Gregor Paul's column:

Even without Cane, some would argue this is the strongest XV the All Blacks could've named. The Wallabies on the other hand, have gone with a very young side.

Savea will captain the All Blacks for the fifth time in his career. On the bench, Luke Jacobson gets his opportunity to impress.

This weekend will mark the first All Blacks test at the MCG since 2007. With over 80,000 fans expected, it is tipped to be the biggest Bledisloe Cup crowd since 2009 when 80,228 turned out to watch at Homebush.

Here's what Ian Foster had to say:

“This trophy means so much to both countries and we expect a massive challenge on Saturday.

“As the final Rugby Championship test, there is much at stake in this game.

“We have learned a lot from two stern tests so far this year and there is huge excitement about playing Australia at this iconic ground.”

Experience returns on the bench, with Anton Lienert-Brown and Sam Whitelock set to make their first appearances of the season. Ofa Tu’ungafasi returns after playing the opening test against Argentina.

Cam Roigard is set to make his All Blacks debut from the bench.
