Thanks for tuning in!

We hope to see you again for the Silver Ferns' next match, as the tournament enters a much more competitive stage. Take care till then, pō mārie!

Next on the schedule

This match was NZ's last of the initial group phase of the tournament and they'll now progress to a Super Six stage in which a further three matches will be played before a possible semi-final fixture.

The Silver Ferns will play tomorrow, but the exact timing and opponent is yet to be determined, so tune into the NZ Herald website tomorrow morning for an update on that front.

Player of the Match

Jane Watson snags the award for the Silver Ferns for her defensive prowess. She says it was a great game in terms of developing the side's structures and enjoys lifting the energy of the side from the defensive end. A well-deserved acknowledgement!

A defensive record

By restricting Singapore to just 18 points, the Silver Ferns post the most impressive defensive effort of the tournament so far.

However, the loss of Grace Nweke to injury as part of a not-so-great attacking effort would concern coach Noeline Taurua.

That's a wrap!

The final quarter ends and it was a snapshot of the Silver Ferns' performance from the evening in many respects: great defensively, but not so fluid on attack.

Ferns finishing strong

It's a 10-1 start to the final quarter from the Ferns as they continue to dominate the match.

Nweke remains on the bench

Despite being on her feet in the break, Nweke is still off the court as the Ferns begin the final quarter. Instead, Heffernan and Burger come on for the Ferns.

A backwards step

While the Ferns still dominated the third quarter, it wasn't quite as impressive as their second-quarter effort and Nweke's departure with a knee injury was a concerning sight.

I just spotted her donning the GS bib though, so she may have quickly bounced back - hopefully so!

Right knee issue

Nweke now has an ice pack wrapped around the lower part of her right knee as she watches her teammates from the bench. I don't think she'll be back in action again tonight.

The Ferns go quiet

After a scorching second quarter, the Ferns have struggled to find any momentum on attack to begin this second half. Of course, that hasn't been helped by Nweke's unexpected departure.
