And it's great to have Fox at the US Open, 20 years after Michael Campbell won the event.
Fox is making a habit of winning events the weekend before a major. Put him down for a Scottish Open victory next month.
"It was very hard- fought. A bit scratchy, to be honest, for 13 holes today. Made a couple of good saves there and then kind of found it the last four or five holes. Hit some great shots, holed a couple of putts and then was pretty lucky to make that putt in regulation. It was probably dying left side and snuck in.
"Didn't hit a couple of great shots in the playoff and Sam let me off there the first time round. Nice to hit a good one on 18 that fourth time. That's probably the best shot I've hit in my life and nice to do it in these kind of circumstances."
"I'm still trying to process it, I can see my girls about to go play in the sand. I don't know ... it's crazy. The last four weeks I've played some of the best golf I've ever played and to get a couple of wins on the PGA Tour in a month is pretty surreal to be honest."

On that approach to the 18th green

$2.92 million (New Zealand dollars) for first place.
A spot in the Masters and Players Championship.
500 FedEx Cup points.
Amazing scenes yet again for Ryan Fox. He needed a top-five finish to make the US Open and goes on to win the event. The second Kiwi to claim two PGA Tour events in the same year.
HE WINS!
Fox has two putts for the win!
