Correct decision in my book. Gallen was the fighter looking to push the action and landed solid shots to the body throughout. Williams had one standout round where he had Gallen in trouble, but for the most part he appeared to pace himself, land a few shots and hold on in the clinch.
Williams had some good rounds and did enough to edge a few, but the point deduction made the difference in the end.
Paul Gallen wins by split decision: 77-74 Gallen, 77-74 Williams, 76-75 Gallen
Williams wins the last. I've got it four rounds each, but Gallen winning given the point deduction to Williams.
Nothing would surprise me in these cards.... not even a draw.
Williams with a strong finish - in terms of volume. He's not landing a lot, but he's putting shots out there.
The referee threatens Williams with disqualification as he continues to hold onto Gallen in the clinch.
Good uppercut from Williams at the end of the round, but I think Gallen did enough to take the round.
I've got him up a round, so two points ahead with the point deduction.
Two rounds remaining. Williams on the front foot early in this one.
Gallen lands a massive body shot and Williams holds on in the clinch. The referee has seen enough - that's a point deduction from Williams for holding.
